Gym Night @ Park Manor

Hi all! Tonight we are playing some floor hockey...we will bring the sticks and balls. All you have to bring is yourself and some playful competition. We will also warm up with some bump and basketball warm up. As usual, cost for tonight is $1.00 (or free with your yearly $20.00 membership). The Snack Shack will be open and available with pop, bottled water and snacks. See you tonight from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Park Manor Public School. Please meet at the gymnasium doors.

The Battle of the Brides - BrideWars @ Galaxy

Yesterday, we battled the blowing snow to go see a movie @ Galaxy cinema. We were planning to see Yes, Man - however we were a tad late. So, we collectively decided upon BrideWars. Thanks guys for venturing off into a typically labelled "chick flick"!!! I think we were all impressed with the humorous content of the movie and deemed it a great choice in the end!

Can't wait until the next movie night!

In 2009 the YC will Pay It Forward

We as the WORLD are faced with many issues, those of poverty, financial turmoil, hunger, disease, war, pain - a great deal of upheaval. In spite of these set backs, we have in front of us a generation of youth who care. 2009 is going to be a big year. Our youth are empowered to CHANGE....it is POSSIBLE!

We start our 2009 year at the YC with enormous aspirations! We are going to change the world! Can you believe it? We can! Our youth are going to do it, one person at a time. Inspired by the book written by Catherine Ryan Hyde, Pay It Forward is the movement of random acts of kindness. Yesterday we watched the film to get an idea of what is in store for us this year. Stay tuned for how our youth are paying it forward.....

He told me, "Just pay it forward." Three big favors for three other people. That's it.
