ODD GIRL OUT - Movie Night on the BIG Screen

Laura and I really hope you all can make it out to next Thursday's movie night! We are showing a FABULOUS movie on the BIG SCREEN and serving all you can handle popcorn. We are showing the movie ODD GIRL OUT - The film is based on the advice book Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls by Rachel Simmons.

We've gone CARROT CRAZY!!!

WE'RE CARROT OBSESSED at the moment....Last night at the YC some of us ventured down to the community garden where we planted some vegetable seeds in the spring. I was totally pumped to see that we were able to harvest two large buckets of carrots!!!!

Thank you to the youth who were willing to dig in the dirt and get in touch with mother nature :)

I am also glad that many of the youth enjoyed sampling the freshness of raw carrots as well - nothing tastes better than straight from the garden!

We started last night with the cleaning of the carrots and will continue tonight as well. You may be asking what we are doing with all of these carrots?????? Well CARROT CAKE of course!! What better way to celebrate a bountiful harvest and to celebrate our youth than with a satisfyingly yummy cake!!! We plan to top it all off with a creamy, sweet and slightly tangy cream cheese frosting. Have I tempted your palette??? We'll come out to the YC tonight and share in the fruits of our labour - see you tonight!

BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING...

We are heading over to Waterloo for some back-to-school shopping @ Conestoga Mall. Mark your calenders for Thursday, September 11th. Come by the Youth Centre for your permission form. Cost of this event is $1.00.

We Need Your Help - Elmira Poultry Fundraiser

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for volunteer youth to sell Elmira Poultry chicken as part of our on going fundraising efforts for the Woolwich Youth Centre. As a non-profit centre, we rely on opportunities like this to raise money for our centre and make it the best one we can! Please pop by the Youth Centre or Woolwich Community Services (on Arthur Street, just down from Shoppers Drug Mart) to get your forms to sell or make a purchase.

Why not get a group together and try out one of our local hiking trails??? Not sure where they are?? Pop by the WCS (Woolwich Community Services) office on Arthur St. downtown (near Shoppers DrugMart) and pick up your guide to woolwich trails for a minimal $5.00 charge. Remember to stay safe, stay in groups & ALWAYS let your family know where you are going!

Hi all!

Hope your first couple days back at school have been awesome...we sure miss seeing your beautiful faces at the YC! Just a reminder that GYM NIGHTS are back in full swing. Tonight we are meeting outside at Park Manor for 6:30 and the evening runs until 8:30pm. Hope to see you there...this evening is always open to new faces :)
